Our philosophy is to always place ourselves in our clients' shoes. Think on their behalf and with them. Come up with solutions that are always the "best" for them. Never push a client to transact. And when our convictions don't support, never hesitate to advice a client not to transact. It is this attitude that has helped us to get to where we are today.

Relationships

For us, a transaction is a by products of a relationship. It is part of a relationship but not an end objective by itself. In an industry that is at times synonymous with opportunism, we have made a sincere effort to chart our own course, by focussing on relationships rather than transactions. Relationships are built only by investing time and imparting quality advice - which is what we practice as a religion.

Knowledge

Knowledge is a key differentiator in this business. Perhaps that's the reason why we even named ourselves "Veda". Knowledge in the context of deal making has three components

Product Knowledge

We bring to the table a deep understanding of the subtleties, nuances and dynamics of Private Equity and M&A. An understanding built out of years of deal making experience.That helps us to prepare, package, position and price the transaction in a manner that delivers the best value for our clients

Market Knowledge

When it comes to deal making, two aspects are critical for an entrepreneur. One is to get the timing right and the second is to choose the right partner. We bring to the table long-standing relationships with the VC/PE community and an ability to reach out to a wider cross section of corporates, both domestic and global. We aim to present the best possible spread of partners to our clients.

Industry Knowledge

A diligent effort to understand and unravel the key aspects of the industry and the environment in which the client operates is imperative. This knowledge makes a difference to the client at every stage of the transaction process - from concept to culmination. Our experience of advising clients across diverse industries has always stood us in good stead in every new assignment.

Ideation

At Veda, we try to sense opportunities where others see none. It is this trait that emboldens us to present ideas and solutions to our clients that sometimes defy conventional wisdom but can potentially multiply value creation. This ideation can manifest itself in different ways. Sometimes it is in the selection of a partner, an innovative structure or even a smart tweaking of the process itself.

Going the distance

Deal making is much more than making two parties meet and transact. It involves plenty of hard work for the client and for us too. Often we are called upon to assume responsibilities that go beyond our scope. At Veda, each one of us is inculcated with the spirit of leaving no stone unturned to ensure that our client objectives are met.
