Veda began in late 2003 when Venkat and Vinod teamed up once again to set up a boutique investment banking outfit. Having successfully addressed the start up and early stage segment through their earlier entrepreneurial venture, "Mantra Consultants" ( that was later acquired by Ernst & Young), both of them believed that the next opportunity was in the SME/mid market segment: a segment that was fast growing and yet relatively under-serviced by the investment banking community.

So Veda was set up to fulfill a need in the market. A need for a sincere and competent investment banking firm that was willing to be a long term partner to its clients and not an opportunistic deal maker.

Having started as a Chennai-based team of four, Veda now is an eclectic team of 20+ professionals, spread across three offices with a stellar track record. We are known as much for the values and ethics we stand by, as for our transaction credentials.

We have grown significantly over the last 6 years - grown with our clients and thanks to our clients. Veda is well poised to enter its next growth phase: add new products, enter new markets and of course craft more transactions. But in doing all this, we will never deviate from our core philosophy.
